Birmingham City's Solomon-Otabor Delighted To Score In League Opener
Published: August 05, 2018
Former Nigeria U23 invitee Viv Solomon-Otabor was delighted to score in Birmingham City's Championship opener against Norwich City at St. Andrew's Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Having netted in the 89th minute, the winger thought he had scored the winner for The Blues but it was the Canaries that rounded off the scoring, with Hernandez getting his brace in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
Solomon-Otabor has backed Birmingham City to be promoted to the Premier League at the end of this season, despite the temporary setback.
''Obviously, I was delighted to score in the first game of the season, but I am disappointed we conceded in the last minute,'' says Solomon-Otabor to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''We have to fight again in the coming games, everyone played well against Norwich, it was a good game.
''As a team, our target this season is to be promoted to the Premier League. Individually, I have to keep playing well and keep performing.''
The 22-year-old Solomon-Otabor, who will play with the number 22 kit this term, impressed while on loan at Blackpool during the 2017-2018 campaign, with 5 goals in 44 league games.
