Chelsea have kicked off their U-18 Premier League campaign with a 3-1 win over Southampton U-18s on Saturday afternoon, with Faustino Anjorin scoring one of the goals for the visitors.
The young Nigerian midfielder was named in the starting lineup for Andrew Myers's side while former Arsenal wonderkid, David Agbontohoma was also among the young Saints that started at the Staplewood Training Ground. Jordan Aina was named among the substitutes for the Blues.
Anjorin opened the scoring from the spot after 38 minutes after he was fouled in the box by Allan Tchaptchet, the 16-year-old picking himself up to rattle high into the top corner for his side's first goal of the new season.
Aina came off the bench for Jonathan Russell for his competitive debut for the U18s after 72 minutes while Dynel Simeu was introduced in place of goalscorer, Anjorin ten minutes from time.
Thierno Ballo and George Nunn got the other goals for the club in the comfortable victory.
