Published: August 16, 2018
Norwegian Eliteserien side IK Start have officially announced the permanent transfer of Nigerian striker Abubakar Ibrahim to Hamarkameratene and the deal was finalized before the close of the transfer window on Wednesday night.
Ibrahim initially joined Hamarkameratene on loan for the remainder of the 2018 season and his contract with IK Start would have expired at the end of next season, 2019.
Prior to his move to Scandinavia in 2017, he had turned out for local clubs Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars, plus Tunisian side Club Bizertin.
The 23-year-old was a member of the Super Eagles squad to the 2014 African Nations Championship and scored the winning goal in a 4-3 win over Morocco after coming off the bench.
This season, Ibrahim has had a hand in 8 goals (3 goals, 5 assists) in 20 appearances in all competitions for Hamarkameratene and departs IK Start with 16 games under his belt.
IK Start are on the verge of confirming the capture of talented Nigerian striker Adeleke Akinyemi.
