Trabzonspor New Star Nwakaeme Uses Brace On Home Debut To Send Message To Rohr
Trabzonspor summer signing Anthony Nwakaeme netted a pair of goals and notched an assist on his home debut in his side's 4-0 rout of Super Lig giants Galatasaray on Saturday evening.

The former Hapoel Beer Sheva striker has yet to make his debut for the Super Eagles after the result of a World Cup qualifier against Algeria last November was nullified because Nigeria fielded an ineligible player, Abdullahi Shehu.

Nwakaeme has not been called up to the Super Eagles in 2018 but his latest exploits could make Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr look in his direction when he announces his roster for next month's AFCON qualifier against Libya.

Eddy Onazi scored his 13th senior goal in the third minute with a shot from just outside the box after the ball fell kindly to him from a rebound.

On 25 minutes, Nwakaeme netted his first goal in a Trabzonspor shirt and showed off some fancy footwork on his way to scoring his team's third goal in the third minute of first-half stoppage time.

The 29-year-old then turned provider, sending a fine pass to Ekuban for Trabzonspor's last goal in the 90th minute.

Nwakaeme was an unused substitute in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon and Zambia, and did not take to the field in the pre-World Cup friendly with Argentina.
