Rohr Insists Kalu Is The Man To Replace Chelsea Star Moses Despite Playing To The Gallery
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has insisted that Bordeaux number ten Samuel Kalu is the player that will replace Chelsea star Victor Moses in the national team, adding that he gave a good account of himself on his debut against Seychelles this past weekend.

Though the former Gent star was guilty of showboating and playing to the gallery as rightly pointed out by some pundits, he may be forgiven for his excesses as he won the penalty converted by Odion Ighalo eleven minutes into the second half.

''We saw some of them (new players) today, Kalu performed well, he won the penalty, he is very quick, very explosive and we had to find somebody on the right side to replace Victor Moses and he is the man who can do that,'' Rohr said in a post-match interview with Brila FM's Okoroji Chidozie.

''I saw him at Bordeaux and he did very well, and on the other side we still have Ahmed and we have our wingers who can be very dangerous. I am happy also that Ighalo could score today.''

Kalu made his international debut for the Super Eagles along with former Arsenal youth-teamer Semi Ajayi who replaced an injured Chidozie Awaziem in the 73rd minute.

Nigeria's next match in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers comes up against Libya on October 10.
