Leicester City striker Layton Ndukwu has missed out on the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for August 2018.

informed on Monday morning that the award has gone to Reading youth-teamer
Danny Loader who scored three goals in the month of August.

Ndukwu also found the net three times last month in matches against Swansea City and Blackburn Rovers.

The 20-year-old had been nominated for the Player of the Month prize along with eight other players from Chelsea, Brighton & Hove, Reading, Manchester United, Manchester City, West Ham United and Sunderland.

They include Aaron Connolly, Victor Gyokeres, Tariq Lamptey, Nabil Touaizi Zoubdi, Angel Gomes, Danny Loader, Luke Molyneux and Xande Silva.

Ndukwu joined Leicester City at the age of nine and is inching closer to a competitive debut for the club after making the match day squad for their final Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur last season.
