Official: Two Nigerian Starlets Pen New Contracts With Arsenal
Published: September 14, 2018English Premier League side Arsenal have confirmed via their official website that two promising Nigerian footballers have penned new contracts with the club.
Winger Bukayo Saka and goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo have signed their first professional contracts at Arsenal.
Both players celebrated their seventeenth birthday this month and returned to the Gunners this week after representing England U18s at the12th edition of the Limoges Tournament in France.
Commenting on the deal, Arsenal Academy manager, Per Mertesacker, said : ''Bukayo and Arthur are talented players, who have both excelled through our Hale End Academy.
''We are delighted that they have signed their first professional contracts with us and we look forward to supporting them further through their development.''
Last season, Saka was a key member of the Arsenal U18 side that reached the final of the FA Youth Cup and finished second in the U18 Premier League South, while Okonkwo trained with the first team before their League Cup match with Doncaster Rovers.
