Tottenham Hotspur's Nigerian Midfielder Not In Contention To Face Liverpool
Published: September 15, 2018
Nigerian midfielder Luke Amos is not in contention to make his second competitive appearance for Tottenham Hotspur when they face Liverpool in the Premier League this afternoon.
Amos skippered Spurs U23 side as they recorded a 2-0 win over Manchester City in the Premier League 2 on Friday, which effectively rules him out of today's tie with the Reds at Wembley.
The 21-year-old went the distance along with teammate and England U19 star Timothy Eyoma, while Manchester City duo Nathanael Ogbeta and Tom Dele-Bashiru played the entirety of the game.
Tottenham Hotspur first-team manager, Mauricio Pochettino was among the 673 spectators that witnessed Friday's match at The Lamex Stadium (Stevenage, Hertfordshire).
The Londoners are set to play seven competitive games in the space of 21 days and it is thought that the Argentinian coach came to check on the progress of the outstanding talents at the academy.
Last month, both Luke Amos and Timothy Eyoma signed new deals that will keep them at Spurs until the summer of 2022.
