A round-up of Nigerian players that were in action for their respective clubs in the English Premier League on Saturday, September 15th.
Nigerian players with dual nationalities and have played competitively for the senior national teams of other countries have been omitted.
In the early kickoff at Wembley, Liverpool maintained their perfect start to the new season with a 2-1 win over Tottenham at their makeshift home ground.
Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino struck for the visitors in the 39th and 54th minutes respectively before Erik Lamela halved the deficit in the third minute of stoppage time.
Nigeria Football Federation target, Dominic Solanke was not in the Reds traveling party to the national team's stadium while Luke Amos who was in action for Spurs U23s side yesterday was understandably missing here also.
At the Vitality Stadium, in-form Bournemouth saw off Leicester City in a six-goal thriller, with Ryan Fraser (2), Joshua King and Andy Smith getting the goals for the Cherries while James Maddison and Marc Albrighton scored for the visiting side.
Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi made his fifth consecutive league start to the season while his compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho came on after 61 minutes before laying on his side's second of the day for Albrighton.
Jordon Ibe will, however not come off the substitutes bench to taste action for the hosts.
Elsewhere at Stamford Bridge, a treble from Eden Hazard and another strike from Willian gave Chelsea a 4-1 victory over Cardiff City; Sol Bamba with the only goal for the opponents.
Yet again, ex-Nigeria international, Victor Moses was missing from the match day squad for The Blues.
Over to the John Smith's stadium, Wilfried Zaha's solitary goal gave Crystal Palace a 1-0 win against Huddersfield Town.
Midfielder Philip Billing was on from start to finish for the Terriers here.
In another clash at St James Park, Arsenal bested Newcastle 2-1 courtesy of goals from Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka while Clark scored for the Magpies.
Super Eagles starlet, Alex Iwobi was conspicuously missing from the visitors 18-man list for the game after reportedly returning from injury.
And in the final division game for today at the Vicarage Road, Isaac Success starts on the bench for Watford as they welcome Manchester United.
