Manchester United Legend Ferdinand Urges U20 World Cup Golden Ball Winner To Dump Liverpool
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has advised England U21 star of Nigerian parentage, Dominic Solanke, to leave Liverpool due to his lack of first team opportunities.

Solanke has been frozen out by manager Jürgen Klopp in the new season, so much so that he has not been considered for any match day squad after five rounds of matches in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old won the Golden Ball at the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea and is a key member of the Young Lions squad that is on the verge of qualifying for next year's European U21 Championship.

Speaking as a pundit on BT Sport, Ferdinand stated: ''They (the coaches) are not managing for England, their concerns not the England team. Obviously they are not good enough.

''The young kids like Foden, the Loftus-Cheeks and Solankes of this world who are wining tournaments for England at youth level, if they are good enough they will be playing.

''It is a lucrative game for these managers and their jobs are on the edge every single game, they want players who are going to make them win, so these boys obviously at the moment are not being blooded properly....

''Solanke is sitting on the bench at Liverpool, he was sitting at Chelsea. He is gone to Liverpool for opportunities, he is not getting that, you got to get out.''

Solanke has made 27 first team appearances for Liverpool since his arrival at Anfield from Chelsea in July 2017.
