Nigerian Striker Rinsola Babajide Scores And Assists In Liverpool Win Vs Durham
Liverpool FC Women beat Durham Women FC 5-4 on penalties in the group stage of the Continental Tyres Cup on Sunday, with Nigerian striker Rinsola Babajide opening her goalscoring account for the season.

Named in the starting line-up, Babajide set up the opening goal scored by Bradley-Auckland in the second minute but the Wildcats were almost level straight away, with Emily Roberts making it 1-1 after the restart.

Roberts on 21 minutes and Cottam five minutes after the intermission scored to give Durham Women a 3-1 lead but Babajide brought Liverpool back into tie when she pulled a goal back in the 71st minute.

The former Watford star curled home from inside the area after receiving a pass from Niamh Charles, before Sweetman-Kirk fired home the equalizer with three minutes left on the clock, which took the game to penalties.

Babajide was not among The Reds penalty takers as she was substituted in the 75th minute.

She is now coached by ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland following the departure of manager Neil Redfearn on Friday.
