Battle Of Nigerian Wingers: Saka Outshines Adekanye As Arsenal Romp To 4-0 Win Vs Liverpool PL2
Published: September 21, 2018In a match involving two promising Nigerian wingers, Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka outshone Bobby Adekanye as the Gunners romped to a 4-0 win in a Premier League 2 clash at Meadow Park (Borehamwood, Hertfordshire) on Friday evening.
Saka caused Liverpool a lot of problems with his ability to cross the ball and capped off a fine individual display with his first goal for Arsenal U23 team.
Liverpool were dominant in the opening minutes but it was the Gunners that took the lead against the run of play when Saka finished into the bottom corner after he was set up by Eddie Nketiah in the 22nd minute.
Nketiah doubled the home team's advantage, scoring from close range three minutes later.
On 79 minutes, the lively Saka provided the assist for Arsenal's third goal scored by Willock before Nketiah grabbed his second of the evening two minutes into stoppage time off an assist from Nigerian defender Joseph Olowu.
Tobi Omole, James Olayinka and Tolaji Bola were the other players of Nigerian descent involved for Arsenal against their opponents from Merseyside.
