There are four goals to report so far scored by Nigerian players in matches across Europe on Saturday, September 22.

In Sweden, former Nigeria international Chinedu Obasi scored for the second game on the spin as Elfsborg claimed a 1-0 win vs örebro at  Borås Arena (Borås).

The former Schalke 04 striker received a pass from Stefan Ishizaki before placing the ball behind goalkeeper Oskar Jansson in the örebro goal in the 23rd minute.

Obasi's first-half winner gave Elfsborg their first win in the Allsvenskan since July 8, 2018.

In the English League One, arguably Nigeria's most in-form striker at the moment, Josh Maja, took his tally for the season to seven goals from nine matches thanks to his brace in Sunderland's 4-1 rout of Rochdale at the Stadium of Light.

The current EFL Young Player of the Month headed home a ball from Maguire to open the scoring in the 37th minute and made it 3-0 on the brink of half-time.

Fulham loanee Elijah Adebayo continues to catch the eye at Swindon Town, scoring his fourth league goal against a Yeovil Town side containing three other Nigerians in Omar Sowunmi, Diallang Jaiyesimi and Olufela Olomola.

Adebayo curled the ball into the corner in the 89th minute to close the scoring for Swindon Town in their 3-0 win away from home.
