Aubameyang Hails Iwobi For Playing A Part In Arsenal's Winning Goal
Published: November 25, 2018
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hailed Alex Iwobi for the part he played in the winning goal scored by Arsenal in their hard fought 2-1 win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Iwobi was culpable for Bournemouth's equaliser on the stroke of half-time, having lost possession in the penalty area which started The Cherries break.
But the Nigeria international made amends 21 minutes into the second half when he played in Kolasinac, who squared the ball to Aubameyang to tap home from close range.
''I think Alex gave the ball to Sead then I sprinted into the area, and he gave me a good pass,'' Aubameyang told Sky Sports post-match.
Arsenal seemed to be the better team in the second half, coming with more determination having conceded a goal on the stroke of half-time.
''The goal before half-time was bad and not bad for us because in the second half we knew that we had to come back with intensity, be more aggressive and do better than the first half.''
