15-Year-Old Nigerian Striker On The Cusp Of Bury First Team Debut
Published: December 10, 2018Young Nigerian striker Femi Seriki is inching closer to making his debut for EFL League Two club Bury.
The 2003-born player was named in The Shakers 18-man squad for their EFL Trophy clash against Mansfield Town but was not utilized off the bench.
Seriki was temporarily promoted to Bury's first team for the fixture at Field Mill after a string of fine displays for the U18 team, for whom he has scored five goals in eight appearances.
The 15-year-old is among Bury U18s top assists providers having teed up seven goals so far this season.
He would have worn the number 42 kit if he had featured as a substitute against Mansfield Town on December 4.
Nigerian defender Emeka Obi is the youngest player to debut for Bury in the EFL Trophy, against Morecambe aged 15 years and 86 days.
