Super Eagles Newbie Chukwueze To Discover First Team Fate As Villarreal Appoint New Coach
One-cap Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze will discover his first-team fate at Villarreal in the coming days, with the Yellow Submarine doing away with the services of Calleja and appointing Luis García Plaza as the new coach of the club on Monday, December 10.

Javier Calleja handed the former Flying Eagles star a first-team debut and the right winger wasted little time before he broke into Villarreal's starting lineup, with five consecutive starts in La Liga to date.

Under Calleja, the Diamond Academy product logged 647 minutes for the first team in all competitions, including La Liga, Copa del Rey and Europa League, scoring three goals with one assist.

The 46-year-old Plaza will lead Villarreal until the end of the 2018-19 season and held his first training session with the players on Monday.

In the 2005-2006 season, Plaza coached Villarreal's second team before serving as head coach in Levante UD, Getafe CF and Beijing Renhe among others.

Villarreal's next match is against Spartak Moscow in the Europa League on Thursday, December 13.
