Club Brugge Vs Atlético Madrid Team News : Why Ex-Nigeria U15 Star Has Been Omitted From Squad
Published: December 11, 2018Former Nigeria U15 international Emmanuel Dennis will certainly not figure for Belgium champions Club Brugge in their match day six Champions League fixture against Atlético Madrid at Jan Breydelstadion on Tuesday evening.
Manager of Club Brugge, Ivan Leko announced a 19-man roster on Monday, with the winger not making the cut.
It would be recalled that Dennis had to be substituted after 20 minutes in Club Brugge's 3-0 rout of Standard Liege on December 2, shortly after he found the net due a hamstring-related complaint.
The 21-year-old did not participate in training throughout last week and was not in the squad for last Friday's league match against Waasland-Beveren.
Although he returned to training on Monday, the game against Atlético Madrid has come too soon for him.
This season, Dennis has played three matches for Club Brugge in the Champions League, with two of them starts against Monaco (Oct 24) and Borussia Dortmund (Nov 28).
