UEFA Champions League : Awaziem Makes Debut, Henry In Action As Galatasaray Lose To Porto

Super Eagles duo of Henry Onyekuru and Chidozie Awaziem were in action for their clubs, Galatasaray and Porto, Tuesday evening in a Match day 6 action at the Turk Telecom Stadium in Istanbul which ended 2-3 in favour of the Portuguese side.
Onyekuru came off the bench in the 46th minute in place of Rony Donk while at the opposing side Awaziem came off the bench in the 81st minute for his maiden appearance the Champions League.
Onyekuru tried as much as he could to contribute to his team's win but it was not to be as goals by Felipe, Moussa Marega and Sergio Oliveira were enough for the 1987 winners of the European top competition.
Eren Derdiyok and Sofiane Feghouli (who later missed a penalty kick) scored for the Turkish giants who now drop unto the Round of 32 of the Europa League.
In the other Group D game of the evening, Super Eagles' left back Bryan Idowu was an unused substitute in Lokomotiv Moscow's 1-0 away defeat to Schalke 04 at the Veltins Arena.
The draw for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League will hold on Monday, 17 December.
