Rangers Target Another Nigerian Striker To Replace Sadiq; Roma Loanee Has Contract Terminated
Published: December 13, 2018Former Nigeria U23 international Umar Sadiq has to look for a new club to represent on a temporary basis in the January transfer window.
According to the Scottish Sun, Steven Gerrard has given the green light for Sadiq to leave Rangers, even with three weeks before the transfer window opens for him to land a replacement.
The newspaper added that Sadiq's departure will pave the way for Rangers to sign Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke on loan for the remainder of the 2018-2019 season.
Signed on loan from Roma in July 2018, the Nigerian struggled to break into Rangers' first team, with only four appearances to his name in all competitions from a possible 32 matches.
The 21-year-old has returned to Italy and will now consider his options before the window opens.
Previously, the lanky attacker had loan spells with Torino, Bologna and NAC Breda.
