Why Liverpool Striker Does Not Want To Join Balogun At Brighton; The Eagles Lead Race
Published: December 29, 2018
Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke will reportedly turn down a permanent transfer to Leon Balogun's Brighton & Hove in the January transfer window.
The Guardian UK is reporting that the England U21 sensation is wary of a move to the Seagulls due to their one-striker approach and could be behind Glenn Murray and Florin Andone in the pecking order of strikers.
One of the reasons why Solanke might decide to join Crystal Palace is that manager Roy Hodgson plays with two strikers.
Although The Eagles have also been linked with Michy Batshuayi, Hodgson has identified the Liverpool starlet as his top offensive target ahead of the Chelsea loanee.
Solanke has yet to figure for Liverpool's first team this season and will not be in the squad against Arsenal on account of injury.
Since joining the Anfield side in the summer of 2017 from Chelsea, he has played 27 games for the first team.
Victor Moses and Tammy Abraham are the other players of Nigerian descent reportedly on the radar of Crystal Palace in the winter transfer market.
