Crystal Palace Make Move For Ex-Chelsea Star John Obi Mikel
Published: January 14, 2019Crystal Palace are reportedly looking for potential reinforcements to beef up the team in the winter transfer market.
According to Team Talk, Palace are in the market for a central midfielder and have identified Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel as a potential target.
The Chelsea legend could arrive The Eagles at zero cost apart from his wages, having terminated his contract with Chinese Super League club Tianjin Teda earlier this month.
At least six unnamed Premier League clubs are in contention for the signature of Mikel.
As previously reported by this website, the 31-year-old priced himself out a move to Fenerbahce and Major League Soccer due to his excessive wage demands.
Mikel has bags of Premier League experience with 249 games to his name in more than ten years at Chelsea, prior to his move to China in January 2017.
Meanwhile, it is also claimed that Crystal Palace are interested in signing former Super Eagles star Victor Moses on loan for the remainder of the season.
