Liverpool Sanction Transfers For Four Outfield Players On Deadline Day
Published: February 01, 2019
Premier League giants, Liverpool had sanctioned transfers for four of their outfield players just before the window slammed shut on Thursday night.
While midfielders Lazar Markovic and Matty Virtue moved on permanently to English clubs Fulham and Blackpool respectively, striker Liam Miller signed a new long-term contract with the Reds before switching to Kilmarnock on loan for the remainder of the season.
The third midfielder, Pedro Chirivella made a temporary return to Spain to team up with Segunda Division side Extremadura UD for the rest of the 2018/2019 campaign.
Markovic and Virtue spent time away from the club in search of first-team opportunities with Fenerbahce, Sporting CP, Hull City and Anderlecht benefiting from the services of the former while the latter had a stint with Notts County in League Two last season.
Miller was the Liverpool's Academy's top scorer with 19 goals in all competitions last season, and has played on the same team with the club's Nigerian attacker, Bobby Adekanye.
Chirivella on his part, has made five competitive appearances for the Reds first team, including one Premier League start at Swansea City and will be looking to further develop his skills with the move.
The loan deals of Miller and Pedro are subject to international clearances.
