Manchester City Midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru Adds Goalscoring To His Game
Published: March 03, 2019
Manchester City starlet Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has added goalscoring to his game, having scored in each of his last three games in all competitions for the youth teams.
Predominantly a central midfielder, the highly-rated teenager can be deployed as a makeshift fullback if the need arises.
Since debuting for Manchester City in the U18 Premier League during the 2016-17 campaign, he netted only once in 19 league games prior to the start of this season.
Fisayo Dele-Bashiru struck in the 4-1 rout of Bournemouth in the quarterfinal of the FA Youth Cup on February 26 and hit a brace in his latest game against Everton U18s on Saturday.
He was also among the scorers on February 16 as City thrashed Manchester United 3-0 to qualify for the final of the U18 Premier League Cup.
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, who is not afraid to
blood young talents, is believed to be monitoring the development of
Fisayo as the Spaniard invited him to train with the first team ahead of
the Champions League meeting with Lyon in September.
The 18-year-old Fisayo was born in Hamburg and is the younger brother of Tom Dele-Bashiru.
