Liverpool Winger Adekanye In Line For Netherlands Recall After 3 Years In The International Wilderness
Nigerian-born winger Bobby Adekanye could make his international debut for Netherlands U20s national team this month.

KNVB coach Bert Konterman has included the Liverpool wonderkid in a provisional list of eighteen players for two international matches against Mexico (March 22) and the Czech Republic (March 25).

No thanks to injuries, Adekanye has not featured for Netherlands since October 2015 when he played for the U17s in a 4-1 win against Switzerland.

The final selection will be announced on March 15 and it is not a foregone conclusion that the winger will make the cut as players named to the provisional U21 roster could be called up to the U20s.

Adekanye played on the same Netherlands U16 team as AS Roma's Justin Kluivert and Ajax Amsterdam sensation Matthijs de Ligt who have gone on to earn caps for the Dutch senior team.

The 20-year-old has not featured for Liverpool in 2019 amid speculation surrounding his future.
