Has Iwobi Done Enough To Make Arsenal Starting Lineup Against Crystal Palace?
Published: April 17, 2019
Nigeria and Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi started and went the distance against Watford in Monday's Premier League fixture.
The Hale End Academy product was awesome throughout the encounter as he showed great attacking prowess to help the Gunners win three points at Vicarage Road.
However, it remains to be seen if his display against the Hornets is good enough to win him another starting berth when the Gunners play host to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Many Gunners faithfuls believe the 22-year-old winger was included in Emery's lineup due to the second leg of the Europa League clash against Napoli at the San Paolo Stadium.
He hasn't been a regular starter in recent games, hence, his place in the starting lineup isn't guaranteed. Iwobi has started 19 Premier League matches and has came off the bench on 11 occasions.
Meanwhile, the race for a top-four finish is getting more intensified as the end of season draws closer and the Gunners can't afford to loose their guard.
Manchester United and Tottenham both won their Premier League fixtures last weekend which means Emery's men must avoid dropping any point before the end of the season.
As for Crystal Palace, the Eagles have nothing to lose as they are far from the drop zone. Roy Hodgson's men currently occupy the 13th position on the League standings with 39 points, 8 points above relegation-threatened Cardiff City.
