Official : Five Players Of Nigerian Descent Retained By West Ham
West Ham have submitted their retained and released lists to the Premier League and five Nigeria-eligible players have been retained for the 2019-2020 campaign.

Striker Dapo Afolayan, goalkeeper Daniel Jinadu and defenders Tunji Akinola, Ajibola Alese and Joshua Okocha are still on the books of the Hammers ahead of the close of the summer transfer window.

Afolayan joined West Ham in 2018 from non-leaguers Solihull Moors and spent the second half of last season on loan at Oldham Athletic.

Aged 21, he has played for England C and started his career with the youth team of Chelsea.

Another Chelsea youth-team product, Jinadu made two league appearances for West Ham's U18 team last season and has made the bench for Premier League 2 matches.

Okotcha was an influential member of the U18 squad during the 2018-19 campaign, starting 17 games in the league, while Akinola and Alese played for the U23s.
