Tammy Abraham has explained why Chelsea are moving in the right direction despite failing to win their opening three matches under manager Frank Lampard.
The Europa League holders suffered an opening day loss to Manchester United in the Premier League, lost to Liverpool on penalties in the UEFA Super Cup and were held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester City in their latest game.
However, Abraham is looking at the bright side of things as Lampard is giving youth a chance in the new season, with the likes of himself, Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori who are all Chelsea Academy products promoted to the first team after FIFA banned the club from signing new players until next year.
''Things are looking positive. It is nice to know that the manager, with so much experience, believes in you, especially the young boys coming up,'' Abraham said to Sky Sports after the game against Leicester City.
''Things are looking good, especially for the Academy boys as well looking up to us who were players once in their shoes.''
Abraham has been involved in all the three matches played by Chelsea in the new season, one as a starter.
