Chelsea's Tammy Abraham Reacts After Scoring His First Goal Outside The Box
Published: August 25, 2019
Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham had to wait until his 134th game as a professional before netting his first career goal outside the penalty area.
The England U21 star had netted 60 goals in total for Bristol City, Swansea City and Aston Villa prior to yesterday's Premier League clash at Norwich City but all the goals were all scored from inside the penalty area.
Chelsea got their first win of the season, and Frank Lampard's first since he was appointed manager, thanks to Abraham who netted the winner after unleashing a brilliant effort from just outside the area.
Reacting to his second goal against The Canaries, Abraham told Chelsea's official website : ''It was my first goal outside the box!
''I saw space to run in to. Kovacic found me with a good pass. I got it onto my stronger side and took the shot from outside the box. It turned out to be a good finish.
''We went into the dressing room at half-time and said we needed to stay in the game, stay patient, defend well, and we would get another goal. That’s what we did.

''We knew we needed to win. The first two games of the season was never easy. This game was very important and to get the three points is massive.''
