Chelsea Number 9 Named To U21 Team Of The Week Europe's Top Five Leagues
Published: August 27, 2019Tammy Abraham has been named to the U21 Team of the Week Europe's top five leagues by Whoscored.com.
The England U21 star has been included in best rated XI from the weekend’s action along with Chelsea teammate Mason Mount.
Chelsea secured their first win of the season and Frank Lampard's first since his appointment as manager, beating Norwich City 3-2 on Saturday with Abraham netting his first pair of goals for The Blues.
Prior to the game against the Canaries, he had never scored a goal from outside the box in his professional career but ended that run in the 68th minute at Carrow Road.
In the U21 Team of the Week, the Nigerian Federation target led the frontline and was flanked by Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho and Mount.
With a rating of 8.32, only Sancho (8.54) and Real Sociedad's Martin Odegaard (8.35) rated higher than the Chelsea number nine.
Last week, Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu and his Bordeaux teammate Josh Maja made the U21 TOTW Europe's top five leagues.
