Former Ajax Striker Hoogewerf Makes Manchester United U23 Matchday Squad For The First Time
Nigerian starlet Dillon Hoogewerf was included in Manchester United's matchday squad for a Premier League 2 fixture for the first time on Friday as they were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham United.

Signed from Ajax Amsterdam in the summer, Hoogewerf making the bench suggests that there is a pathway for him to United's first team.

He was an unused substitute along with West Ham duo Daniel Jinadu and Tunji Akinola while England U19 invitee Ajibola Alese played the full game for the visitors at Old Trafford.

A center forward, Hoogewerf is versatile in the sense that he is two-footed and can play in several positions in attack.

Manchester United have a reputation for offering opportunities to young talents with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Mason Greenwood and Angel Gomes making their first team debuts in recent seasons.

Hoogewerf has enjoyed regular playing time with United's U18 squad, starting their last two games against Blackburn and Wolves, and came off the bench on his debut vs Sunderland.
