Nigeria U17 Invitee Makes Competitive Debut For Arsenal U18s
Published: August 31, 2019
Nigeria U17 invitee Malcolm Ebiowei made his competitive debut for Arsenal U18s as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Southampton in the U18 Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The attacking midfielder had previously made Arsenal U18 matchday squad back in the 2017-2018 season but was a non-playing substitute against Chelsea.
Today against the Saints, Ebiowei came on for Romania U16 international Catalin Cirjan in the 74th minute.
One of the stars of the Gunners U16 side, he turns 16 years old early next month and will become eligible to sign scholarship forms at the Emirates Stadium outfit on July 1, 2020.
Ebiowei was one of the exciting dual-eligible players invited to the Golden Eaglets in August but was advised to skip the training camp in Abuja.
He will be hopeful he gets to play again for Arsenal U18s after the international break when they travel to Leicester City.
Miguel Azeez and Nathan Oyedeji played the full game for Arsenal while David Agbontohoma started for Southampton.
