17-Year-Old Winger Alebiosu Plays For Arsenal First Team In Training Game
Published: September 01, 2019
Nigerian winger Ryan Alebiosu has been identified as one of the promising players at the Arsenal Academy by manager Unai Emery.
According to Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird, making reference to Arsenal's matchday programme vs Tottenham Hotspur, it was revealed that the U18s lost 5-0 to the first-team in a training ground match recently, with Alebiosu playing for the first-team.
Though Super Eagles winger Alex Iwobi departed the Emirates in the summer transfer window, Nigerians still have a lot of interest in the club as one or two teenagers are knocking on the door for a place in the first team, including Bukayo Saka.
Signed from Lyndhurst FC ten years ago, Alebiosu penned scholarship forms with Arsenal in 2018 and it showed the faith the youth team coaches had in him as he had struggled with an ankle injury the previous season.
In the new season, the 17-year-old started the first three matches played by Arsenal in the U18 Premier League but missed their last match against Southampton.
Alebiosu can certainly be considered as a versatile player as he is comfortable playing as a winger, fullback, wing-back and midfielder.
