'I Didn’t Know I Could Jump That High' — Iwobi Reacts To His Stunning Goal Vs Wolves
Published: September 02, 2019
With two goals in two starts across all competitions, Alex Iwobi is fast becoming Everton's newfound hero.
The 23-year-old was among the goalscorers in Sunday's thrilling 3-2 victory over Wolves and has revealed his thoughts on the his goal.
Iwobi isn't known to be a good header of the ball judging by the number of goals he's scored with his head.
He has scored just one headed goal since he became a professional footballer, hence, the player admitted he was surprised with the manner with which he scored the goal.
"I was just trying keep it on target [against Wolves]. I didn't know I could jump that high," he said in an interview with the club's official site.
According to the former Arsenal star, his headed goal was a great result to show for his hard work in training session.
He said: "I don't know what's been happening, they [teammates] laugh at me when I try to head the ball in training, but the practice has been paying off."
He also reaffirmed his desire to help the team score many goals this season to help them achieve their target for the season.
"I have been welcomed really warmly and I want to help my team with goals and assists whenever I can.
"I am enjoying myself and hopefully I will make more memories here. Our start has been okay and we will try to take that on after the international break." he concluded.
