Liverpool Legend Hails Hat-Trick Hero Tammy Abraham As Proper Striker
Published: September 14, 2019
Liverpool legend Michael Owen praised Tammy Abraham's goalscoring ability following his two goals in the first half of the ongoing game between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea.
Abraham doubled the visitor's advantage with a predatory finish from close range in the 34th minute, before planting a header past Rui Patricio to make it 3-0 five minutes before half-time.
In his half-time analysis, Owen said : ''It could have been a penalty, I am not sure whether to praise the referee for playing the advantage but that was a good goal.
''This is an even better (second) goal, this is for me a proper striker's goal. Look at him in the middle of the pitch there, you always try to stay on the blind side of the defender.

''He actually grabs Conor Coady's arm as well just to get in front of him.''
Owen went on to praise Chelsea boss Frank Lampard for believing in Abraham despite the striker's struggles in the first two matches of the season.
''People questioned that he could step up to this level and fair play as well to Frank Lampard because he missed a penalty in the Super Cup and then he had a little bit of slow start for a game or two but the patience and trust he has shown,'' Owen added.
Abraham completed his hat-trick nine minutes into the second half and Roman Saiss headed in to grab a consolation for Wolves in the 70th minute.
