Official : Huddersfield Town Confirm Nigeria Call-Up For Talented Striker
Published: September 18, 2019Through a statement on their official website, Championship outfit Huddersfield Town have confirmed that their promising striker Andre Edionhon has received a call-up to the Nigeria U17 National Team.
Edionhon will begin training with the Golden Eaglets squad in Turkey this week, with a view to his inclusion on the final 21-man roster for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.
The 2003-born player could make his maiden appearance for Nigeria at the UEFA Assist U17 International Tournament.
Five-time world champions Nigeria will do battle with Turkey, Guatemala and Senegal in Group 1 of the competition which takes place from Friday 20 September until Friday 27 September in Riva.
A product of Lambeth Tigers, Edionhon joined Huddersfield Town in the summer, penning a scholarship deal.
He could be joined on the Golden Eaglets roster by Bournemouth goalkeeper Joseph Oluwabusola who has promised to link up with the team in Turkey after he was granted permission to return to England due to educational commitments.
