Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has been named the best player of the first eight rounds of the Turkish TFF 1. Lig by beIN SPORTS.
During the beIN 1. Lig programme, moderator Turgay Keskin and commentator Tunç Kayacı selected Bursaspor as the best team of the opening eight weeks after an impressive run of six wins, one draw and one defeat, which has earned them 19 points.
Bursaspor currently occupy second place in the standings, trailing league leaders Kayserispor on goal difference.
Iheanacho was also selected as the best footballer of the first eight rounds following his outstanding individual performances for the Turkish club.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed a phenomenal start to the campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists in eight matches.
His goalscoring exploits have made him a key figure for Bursaspor since joining the club as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle took notice of Iheanacho’s impressive goalscoring displays, with the Malian tactician handing him a recall to the national team for the upcoming friendly against Russia on October 6.
