Saka Trains With Arsenal First Team Pre-Eintracht Frankfurt; Six Nigeria-Eligible Players Not In Contention
Published: November 27, 2019
Anglo-Nigerian winger Bukayo Saka is seemingly in contention for his third appearance in this season's Europa League amid concerns over his fitness, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The England U19 international was spotted training with the Arsenal first-team in their final workout at London Colney before Thursday night's matchday five clash at home to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Saka had been rated as doubtful to face the Germans after suffering a minor knee injury while on international duty with the England U19s earlier this month.
Assuming he's passed fit, the 18-year-old is in competition with Nicolas Pépé and Reiss Nelson for a wing role.
Meanwhile, another Nigeria-eligible teenager in James Olayinka was not pictured training with the group on Wednesday morning, which suggests that he is not in line to make his professional debut against the Bundesliga opponents.
Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, defenders Tolaji Bola, Joseph Olowu and Tobi Omole, and striker Folarin Balogun have been registered for the group stage of the Europa League but have been left out of the provisional squad for tomorrow's game at the Emirates Stadium.
