Ex-Man Utd Star Picks Iwobi For Right Wing Spot Vs Leicester, Confident Ndidi Will Protect Foxes Defence
Published: November 27, 2019
Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves on Wednesday afternoon previewed the upcoming Sunday's English Premier League clash between Leicester and Everton and considered Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi as a better fit to play on the right side of the Toffees attack than Theo Walcott.
Hargreaves was analyst on the Premier League Production's magazine programme, The Analysis Show anchored by another former Premier League midfielder Matt Holland.
"I will play Iwobi down the right side. Theo Walcott hasn't really done so well from there," Hargreaves stated tersely.
On the impact that Iwobi's international teammate Wilfred Ndidi will have as the defensive midfielder in the Foxes' preferred formation, Hargreaves simply said:
"Ndidi will sit in front of the back four and protect the defence," the former Manchester United player said on the touch screen.
"Everton's head coach Marco Silva is under enormous pressure but you expect that Leicester with their current form, second in the league table, will be the favourites for this one," the player turned pundit opined.
Iwobi's Everton despite the huge outlay in the summer to buy some quality players are currently placed 16th in the league table with 14 points and have won just one of their last four matches while Brendan Rodgers' team are in the hunt for a sixth consecutive league win.
