Super Eagles Star Returns To CD Leganes Matchday Squad Against Celta Vigo
Published: December 08, 2019
CD Leganes manager Javier Aguirre has announced his matchday 18 for Sunday evening's La Liga clash against Celta Vigo at Estadio Municipal de Butarque.
The news that will please Nigerians is that Super Eagles star Kenneth Omeruo has been named in the squad but the former Chelsea center back is among the seven substitutes.
In addition to Omeruo's inclusion in the squad, international teammate Chidozie Awaziem will start his seventh game in the Spanish top-flight, barring an injury in the warm up.
The 26-year-old picked up a muscular injury in the closing minutes of Leganes' 2-1 loss to Barcelona on November 23 and sat out the 1-0 loss to Sevilla the following weekend.
He has been named in the squadlist after passing a fitness test on Friday, having taken part in a portion of the training session on Thursday.
It will be Omeruo's 38th game in La Liga should he make an appearance off the bench against Celta Vigo.
