Brand New Signing Fiabema Makes His Debut For Chelsea In 4-0 Rout Of Brighton U18s
Published: February 22, 2020
Chelsea's winter acquisition Bryan Fiabema made his debut for Chelsea U18s as they demolished Brighton & Hove 4-0 in an U18 Premier League match staged at Cobham on Friday night, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Wearing the number 14 jersey, the Norwegian-Nigerian attacker replaced Myles Peart-Harris for his Chelsea debut with 22 minutes left on the clock.
Few minutes after his introduction, he thought he had the ball in the back of the net, with the 17-year-old firing past the Seagulls goalkeeper Roco Rees but was flagged for offside.
Fiabema is the third Nigeria-eligible footballer to play for Chelsea U18s in the league this season after Jordan Aina and Faustino Anjorin.
He was in good shape leading up to his debut against Brighton & Hove as he was on international duty with Norway's U17 squad in February, featuring in friendlies against Croatia, Poland and Georgia.
Fiabema is the youngest player of Nigerian descent to feature in the Norwegian Tippeligaen, aged 16 years, 4 months and 28 days when he made his debut for Tromso against FK Haugesund on July 14, 2019.
