Ex-Manchester United Star Admits Being At Fault For Goal Scored By Dessers Vs Ajax
Published: March 15, 2020Former Manchester United star Daley Blind has admitted that he was at fault for the goal conceded by Ajax Amsterdam during their 1-0 loss to Heracles Almelo in an Eredivisie match last month.
With thirteen minutes remaining, Blind allowed the ball to bounce near the penalty box following a long kick by goalkeeper Blaswich and Dessers punished his error by firing past a stranded Andre Onana.
Looking back at the game, he told Voetbal International (via voetbalprimeur) : "Maybe something happened to me mentally then.
"Not that I can put my finger on it, but it has all been a bit much, I think".
Dessers is the joint top scorer in the Dutch top-flight with 15 goals to his name from 26 matches, level with Feyenoord's Steven Berghuis.
The 25-year-old did not find the net in his last two games before the Eredivisie was postponed over coronavirus fears.
