'Be On The Look Out For Anjorin' - Reece James Backs Midfielder To Break Into Chelsea First Team
Published: March 20, 2020
Chelsea defender Reece James has backed Faustino Anjorin to break into the first team under manager Frank Lampard.
One of the most promising Academy players, the Poole-born starlet of Nigerian descent is the top scorer for the U23s in the Premier League 2 and has been appointed captain of the team for the FA Youth Cup.
Capable of playing as a central midfielder and winger, Anjorin was included in Chelsea's matchday squad for their last two fixtures before football activities were postponed in England after Christian Pulisic, Mateo Kovacic, N'Golo Kante and Callum Hudson-Odoi picked up injuries.
The 18-year-old was a non-playing substitute against Liverpool in the FA Cup, before coming off the bench to make his Premier League debut against Everton.
Lampard appears to be a big admirer of Anjorin as he has often invited him to train with the first team this season.
In an Ask Me Anything session with Bleacher Report, Reece James said : "Be on the look out for Tino Anjorin. He's debuted already but one who can break into the first team."
Anjorin has caps for England U16, U17, U18 and U19 teams but qualifies to represent Nigeria through his father.
