Top Five Nigerian Players With Most Assists In Europe In The 2019-2020 Season
Published: March 25, 2020
No Nigerian player has provided more assists than Partizan Belgrade's Umar Sadiq in the European top-flight leagues so far in the 2019-2020 season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Sadiq's eleven assists in the Serbian Super Liga have been instrumental in Partizan Belgrade's push for the title, with the capital outfit second on the table before the league was postponed.
Former Super Eagles invitee Anthony Nwakaeme, who has played mostly as a winger this season, comes second with nine assists registered in 24 games in the Turkish Super Lig.
Third placed Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has shown his playmaking ability by supplying eight assists in the Scottish Premiership, including three in three consecutive games in December against Motherwell, Hibernian and Kilmarnock FC.
Apart from his six goals in the Danish Superliga, former Austria U21 international Marvin Egho has given a total of seven assists and the striker is the fourth highest ranked Nigeria-eligible player.
Completing the top five is Gaziantep FK's Olarenwaju Kayode who has tallied six assists in Turkey.
Turning a blind eye to his disciplinary record, the Shakhtar Donetsk loanee has been in fine form this season, having scored nine goals in the Super Lig.
