West Ham Interested In Nigerian Twins Who Are Cousins With Ex-Everton Winger Lookman
Published: April 21, 2020
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that twin brothers Halim and Hazeem Bakre are attracting interest from English Premier League side West Ham.
The Hammers have officially invited the two 14-year-olds for trials with a view to a transfer but the attack-minded duo have not started training with the club due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Leyton Orient are among the Football League clubs showing interest in the Bakre twins who are cousins with former Everton winger Ademola Lookman.
The London-based teenagers were playing for the youth team of Brighton & Hove until late 2019 when they decided to leave the club, citing the need to be closer to home.
Halim later underwent trials at Millwall and Hazeem, the younger twin, was at Charlton Athletic but a deal did not materialize because the Seagulls were asking for financial compensation as at that time.
Halim is a left winger cum striker and has been likened to Crystal Palace dazzler Wilfried Zaha while Hazeem is a right winger or attacking midfielder, who has the same playing style as Celtic super kid Karamoko Dembélé.
Halim and Hazeem are open to representing the Nigeria youth teams in future.
