'This Would Have Been Great' - Ighalo Regrets Not Scoring Against Chelsea On Man Utd Debut
Published: May 02, 2020
Odion Ighalo has admitted that he regrets not scoring against Chelsea on his debut for Manchester United in a Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge on February 17.
Introduced in the 91st minute, the former Nigeria international missed a glorious chance to put Manchester United 3-0 up when Argentine glovesman Willy Caballero denied him with an outstretched foot.
While Ighalo has found the net for the Red Devils in the Europa League and FA Cup, he has yet to open his goalscoring account in the Premier League after four appearances as a substitute.
"I was not that angry but I was thinking all through in the bus on the way to the airport that this would have been great scoring against a big team like Chelsea in my debut game for Manchester United," Ighalo told Nana Aba Anamoah via Instagram Live.
"I didn't like that get into me too much because there are more games to play, I thought about it a bit and look forward."
