'He Was Ahead Of Us' - Kehinde Admits Rashford Was A Cut Above The Rest Of Man Utd Academy Players
Published: May 19, 2020
Former Nigeria U23 invitee Tosin Kehinde has admitted that Marcus Rashford was a cut above the rest of his teammates at the Manchester United Academy.
Kehinde and Rashford both represented Manchester United U19 team in the UEFA Youth League during the 2015-2016 campaign, before the striker was brought into the first team on a permanent basis.
The Randers star believes the England international being fast-tracked into the team was as a result of his hard work both in training and youth team games.
"Rashford, he was I would say in our age group, from a mentality standpoint he was just ahead of us, a lot of us we were playing and were enjoying it," Kehinde told Eagles Tracker.
"Whether it was training he was always doing extra stuff and training really hard, I always felt that he was switched on and focused.
"He saw it that there were stages that he needed to get to and things he needed to do to get to where he wanted to be.
"The rest of us were young and enjoying our time there, play well and move to the next stage, move to the next stage, but he was trying to move there at the fastest time possible."

The 21-year-old Kehinde departed Manchester United in the summer of 2018 without making an appearance for their first team.
