What Does The Future Hold For Amos At Tottenham Hotspur?
Published: May 29, 2020
Tottenham-owned midfielder Luke Amos is set for a very important phase of his career at Hotspur Way this summer following his successful loan stint with Queen Park Rangers, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The talented player had risen from the club's youth ranks and into the senior picture quite remarkably, earning his Premier League debut for Spurs in their first game of the 2018–19 season when he replaced Eric Dier against Newcastle United.
However, an anterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up playing for the U23s meant he would play no more until the next season, and was only shipped out on loan after he regained fitness.
This campaign, the Nigeria-eligible player has shown no sign of slowing down though, playing 25 league games in the Championship while scoring twice.
Thus, he will be duly expected to return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium brimming with confidence at the expiration of his loan deal and of course hoping to catch the eyes of Jose Mourinho.
While it is not cast in stone that he will be part of the club's setup come next season, he will fancy his chances no doubt, having bolstered his stock during his stay in the second tier.
That said, what Amos will dutifully want to do is to put himself in an even more advantageous position with a good pre-season showing with the Lily-whites, as he could yet be snapped up temporarily by a top-flight club if Mourinho and his crew eventually feel he is surplus to requirements for the activities of another season.
He has already proved to be a decent enough player with his performances, and will fret not with the challenges and decisions that await his future in the next couple of months.
