Premier League Clubs, Barca, Real Madrid Handed Transfer Boost As Osimhen Rejects Napoli
Published: May 29, 2020
English Premier League clubs not limited to Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen after the Lille wonderkid reportedly rejected a transfer to Napoli.
Eurosport journalist Manu Lonjon has tweeted that Osimhen has refused joining Napoli and the Italian Serie A club have turned their attention to Emmanuel Dennis of Club Brugge.
Osimhen turning down Napoli won't come as a surprise as his agent Jean-Gerard Benoit Czaik earlier ruled out a move to the Italian Serie A.
It has been claimed that La Liga trio Barcelona, Real Madrid and Sevilla are keeping tabs on the 2015 U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner.
With the coronavirus crisis crippling clubs' finances and Lille's strategy of buying promising players and selling at a profit, Osimhen's departure from Les Dogues in the summer cannot be ruled out entirely.
In addition, Lille won't be able to offer Osimhen Champions League football next season after finishing outside the top three.
Lille have reportedly placed an asking price of 55 million euros on the head of the Nigeria international who has four years remaining on his contract.
