Manchester United Interested In Stoke City-Bound Nigerian Defender
Published: June 06, 2020Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Premier League giants Manchester United are monitoring the situation of former Nigeria U17 invitee Iffy Udanoh.
The highly-rated central defender has agreed terms to join Championship outfit Stoke City, signing a two-year pre-scholarship deal but United are still attempting to snatch him from under the noses of the Potters.
The Red Devils have been asking him about his fitness and have invited him for a tour of the club's Carrington training facility but they are set to miss out on his services as he wants to join Stoke City.
Udanoh is nearing a return to full fitness after suffering a meniscus injury shortly after he was handed a scholarship by Stoke City.
Stoke City fitness staff gave him a programme to follow during his rehabilitation and he has built his muscles back after surgery, so he is a good state.
In addition, the center back is participating in some group exercises with the rest of the academy players through video conferencing.
Stoke City were supposed to confirm their new first-year scholars for next season few weeks ago but the ceremony did not hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.
