Official : Former Nigeria Captain Joins French Club Dijon FCO
Published: July 01, 2020French Division 1 Féminine side Dijon FCO have strengthened their ranks by signing former Nigeria captain Desire Oparanozie, informs the official website.
The Super Falcon is joining Dijon FCO as a free agent and has inked a two-year contract that will keep her at the club until the end of the 2021-2022 season.
Oparanozie is well known in the French Division 1 Féminine, having worn the colours of of En Avant Guingamp, where she spent six years and scored 45 goals in 106 league matches.
In her first words as a Dijon player, she said : "I am happy to start a new adventure after six years in Guingamp. I am delighted to be able to discover something else.
"I really like this club and the coach's speech, which has followed me for a long time, convinced me. I am very honored to sign at DFCO. "
A three-time World Cupper, Oparanozie played for Lüleburgaz 39 Spor (Turkey), WFC Rossiyanka (Russia), VfL Wolfsburg (Germany) and Atasehir Belediyespor (Turkey) before her move to France in 2014.
